Ans. Coorg is the smallest district of Karnataka. It is popularly known as the “land of rolling hills”. The weather between September to March is a perfect bliss with some good showers. According to a story of Greeks descended, Coorgis are possibly of Greek or Arabic descent. It is known that a part of army of Alexander, moved south along the coast and established in Coorg. It was not feasible for them to go back and they settled and married the locals.
An Arab theory was also proposed back in which Coorgis wore a coat named kuppia. It resembled the kuffia worn by the Arabs and therefore, it is said that Coorgis are descended from the Arabs.
