CELEBRATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT WEEK IN S.K. PUBLIC

S.K. Public School, Vijaynagar celebrated ‘The Environment Week’ recently. The event started from World Environment Day on 5th June, 20xx. The main function was organized in the school auditorium. Mr S.K. Maru, the noted environmentalist, was the chief guest. He read a paper on ‘Our Beautiful Planet’. He highlighted the dangers that our environment faces today. Unplanned urbanization, deforestation, smoke-emitting automobiles, and industrial effluents have polluted our air, water, and soil. N.S.S. volunteers held a march past holding banners enlightening the public on keeping the environment clean. The star attraction of the week was an exhibition. Its theme was ‘Green Earth-Clean Earth’. The Principal was highly impressed by the volunteers and their dedication to the cause. He acknowledged their services by giving commendation certificates to them.

THE ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION

G.M. Public School got the spotlight again with the celebration of The Environment Day on Tuesday, 5th June. The school decided to celebrate it as ‘Tree Plantation Week’. The Tree Plantation Week’ was launched on June 5th with great fanfare by the Principal and the students. About two hundred trees were planted in the campus. It included traditional Oaks, Gulmohars, Neems, Banyans as well as other flower trees. Some inter-house competitions were held. They highlighted the need for ecological balance for man’s happiness. An inter-house poster competition focused on the factors that are degrading the ecological balance. The motto of the event was to preserve forest wealth, grow more trees, and keep the environment clean. The winners were given away prizes at the end of the week. The ‘Tree Plantation Week’ turned out to be a great success for us.
