‘NO TOBACCO DAY’ PROGRAMME IN S.M. PUBLIC SCHOOL

‘No Tobacco Day’ programme was organized by S.M. Public School on Monday, 31 May in the school’s Auditorium.  It was highly appreciated by all and remained quite successful in achieving its purpose. The school invited a famous doctor, Dr. M.K. Gupta, to talk about the harmful effects of tobacco chewing. He said that tobacco consumption in the form of cigarettes, and bidis plays a vital role in causing lung cancer, high blood pressure, and problems with breathing and the heart.
The day was celebrated as ‘No Tobacco Day,’ and students from classes XI and XII pledged to remain non-smokers forever. They also watched a documentary called ‘Say No to Tobacco,’ which was enjoyable and educational. The event finished with the Principal, Mr. Murli Manohar Swami’s vote of thanks.  The ‘No Tobacco Day’ programme helped to make more people in the town decided not to smoke.
